The first Northwest WMIG Coalition Social Retreat was hosted at the Rock Island Campground off Icicle Creek Road in Leavenworth, WA over the weekend of November 2nd - 3rd. We had 15 people in attendance including six medical students, three nursing students, one PA student, a medical school applicant, one attending physician and three wilderness medicine instructors who happened to be in the area teaching a Remote EMT course that same weekend!

During the day, participants chose their own adventures including bouldering, trail running, trad climbing, studying by the river and touring the Bavarian Village facades of downtown Leavenworth. In the evening everyone came together for a group potluck, libations, hot tubbing and wilderness medicine topic discussions.

We are looking forward to hosting multiple social retreats each year going forward. These are open to all members of any of the seven WMIG groups across our Northwest Region!
