In 2019, a coalition was formed between Wilderness Medicine Interest Group leaders from each of the seven medical schools in our Pacific Northwest region: the University of Washington School of Medicine, Oregon Health & Science University, Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences, Western University Heatherington College of Osteopathic Medicine, Washington State University ESF College of Medicine, Idaho College of Osteopathic Medicine and University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine.

The group seeks to use existing live-streaming and recording technology infrastructure to share wilderness medicine education opportunities throughout the region.
