We are fortunate to host NWMC3 at the Mt Hood Kiwanis Camp. For over 80 years, this facility partnered with the U.S. Forest Service to provide access to the neighboring Mt. Hood National Forest. The camp is 22-acres in size and offers many opportunities for hiking, biking and snowshoeing on the extensive trail system onsite, and is only 6.5 miles from the Government Camp Loop at the base of Mt. Hood. MHKC features rustic lodges with dormitory-style sleeping quarters. The lodges feature restrooms, shower facilities, full kitchens, and social areas.
Linens are not provided. Please bring any bedding, pillows, towels you may require.
All lodges are mixed gender.
Rooming will be on a first-come, first-served basis on arrival to the event.
The Mt Hood Kiwanis Camp (MHKC) is located about fifty miles east of Portland, off Highway 26, in the Mt. Hood National Forest. MHKC is just minutes from the ski slopes of Government Camp. Google Map Directions.
Carpooling & Parking:
There is a parking lot inside the camp near the main entrance that holds an estimated 40 cars. As such we strongly recommend carpooling to the conference to reduce the burden of double-parking.
The conference schedule and guest speakers are still being finalized, so please check back for updates as we get further along in the fall.
Check-in begins Friday evening with a social event and introductory speaker. The main conference begins Saturday morning and ends Sunday afternoon.
Last year's content included patient assessment, patient packaging, musculoskeletal injuries, improvised splinting, hypothermia, altitude medicine, avalanche protocols, ALS in the backcountry, snake envenomations, backcountry antibiotics, remote international medical care, dive medicine, helicopter operations, an austere ultrasound workshop, additional workshops, and hands-on scenarios. Visit Past Events for more details from past years conferences.
You will receive further communication from us. Please watch for emails as these may provide important details and or include requests for more information from our attendees to better suit you.
